So the cause of death was cardiac arrest due to heart disease. He also had emphysema.

Just heard that on the news this evening. But, he had a full and interesting life. You never really heard too much about him because he remained so private. You never really saw him on talk shows for the sake of it, but there were a few of course. Rock star marries model, has children and actually stays married. Not too bad.

28 years is still a good run.

Weren't they still married but estranged? That's how it's been said in the news. Either way, 28 is a long time for a rock star and a model (such a damn stereotype, ain't it? lol). If she are still married, technically, then she gets everything, unless he had a will and laid out those things.

This experience will cover courtship, sex, commitment, fetishes, loneliness, vindication, love, and hate.

Lol, they were amicably separated for over a year and still in each other lives from the People article. She made a lot of money on her own too. She was one of the first super models. I was in an atypical art world fashion show in the 80's. She was a model and just amazing looking. Also got to see Iman up close in the dressing room. Stunning people. Basquait was there too, but I already knew him. He lived across the street from where I worked and would come in a lot.

Anyway, Ocasek was a stand alone kind of artist, and everyone was happy when they got together. She had taste.

Yeah, I know who she is. She's been around for a minute, for sure.

I wasn't attracted to all of their music, but what was on the radio was great stuff. Just weird enough to stand out against typical pop, yet could still settle into the top 10.

RIC OCASEK’S EMOTIONAL FINAL MESSAGE

Ric Ocasek left a final message that gained additional meaning after his death, his family revealed.

The Cars frontman, who died on Sept. 15 as a result of heart disease, had completed a sketch that was discovered in his New York City apartment, where he'd been spending his last days with family. He was 70 (though some sources claim he was 75).

He and the Cars were on the cutting edge of the 70's and helped shape the sound of the 80's. He struck me as an amiable guy. He'll live on through his music. RIP

I listened to the first 3 Cars albums so much that the cassettes finally wore out. Candy O, brilliant!
