Leaving Neverland

I have been putting off watching this and Surviving R. Kelly but after watching Oprah's interview with the director and the two men I was compelled. I've only been able to watch an hour and had to give it a break as it really was upsetting and the sexual details made my stomach churn. As I was a big MJ fan growing up I am the same age as these men and it just brings up so many feelings of being a child at that time and MJ was the biggest superstar on earth...as a mom of two little boys myself seeing footage of these little boys and hearing their stories is just so upsetting. I think their stories are compelling and believable especially Safechuck, it just honestly hurts my heart to imagine innocent children being manipulated and taken advantage of. It sickens me that we as a society say we value children yet are so seduced by money, fame and power that these men (and even Oprah) receive backlash for bringing light to child abuse.

I found it convincing too at first. After doing some research however and looking more into the credibility of the director and especially the alleged victims, I can say I don't buy it. Sorry if that makes me a "peadophile apologist."

I'm gonna continue to listen to my MJ tunes for now.

For those that spent 4 hours watching that documentary, please give Michael at least half of that time and spend a good 2 hours listening to his side of things.

Thanks Krystal for starting this new thread. There are a few things I wanted to say, since I find out new things each day about both sides.

So I just want to state a few things here and honestly if I get called a pedo myself for just stating my opinion about some things MJ did, I'm not gonna hesitate, I'm gonna report this shit.

The things I'm about to state don't make MJ a pedo, but we also can't deny that they are at least really, really weird.

So the first thing is, I watched the Interview with one of the nephews with Piers Morgan and I agree that maybe Dan Reed should've let both sides talk, I agree that this documentary seems very one sided. I didn't watch it (yet), they show it in april here in germany and I'm not sure if I wanna watch it. Now that being said, even Michael's nephew said that no one in the family ever said that Mikes relationship to little boys was in any way normal. Just the way he was because he robbed of his childhood. And he also agreed with Piers, who seems very neutral on the subject, that no one, not the MJ's Fans and the enemies can say what really happened when MJ was alone with these kids. And we'll never find out. But his nephew added: "But at least listen to our side of the story too."

The next thing is, I read a part of J Randy's book yesterday and what should I say? I was shaking my head a few times, regarding MJ's behaviour and Evan Chandler's. I mean, Michael's lawyer was with him very often and Michael calling Jordie his soulmate is just strange as fuck, it don't make him a kiddie fiddler, but can we at least agree on the weird part? I don't care how innocent it was....if he woulda called my child his soulmate.....he would've never got the chance the see my kid again. Period. But I also see that Evan had a motive to get some money...Jordie never said anything about any form of abuse until Evan stepped in. Also, Michael's Lawyer didn't help his case when he told Evan that even if Mike would make a lie detector test, he could show him how to manipulate this test....like? Are you insane? How can you say something like that in a serious situation like that? It didn't help.

His people wanted to make a deal with evan, but Mj didn't....he went on tour without Jordie and was upset about that, since he himself thought: "They should be together on tour." Again....not making him a pedo, but kinda strange and the words he used were strange too. Maybe he really was bad at explaining himself. Anyway his people used some other kids including Wade Robson to explain how innocent MJ's relationship to little boys is and Wade said that Mike slept in bed with them, but nothing sexual was going on, only that Michael would cuddle and kiss you like a mother would. Very innocent to them. So they defended him. It didn't help his case either.....of course not? I mean, what were they thinking?

Again, no matter how innocent it may seem, I would not want my child to be in a situation like that.

But I wanna move on now. Since people on Twitter are bringing up Brandi, who dated Wade for seven years.....they and she said that he couldn't have been molested by her uncle, since she was dating him for seven years. And him leaving out that fact means he's lying. When I see no logic behind that. He could've been dating her and still been molested. She also said he was not sexual active with her for six years and that this was also evidence that nothing happened? Jeez, she's as bad at defending Mike as his lawyers back in the 90's.

I think that's why the older generation keep their mouths shut, because there's no way to defend Mike without saying something questionable.

And even Corey Feldman said that Michael never touched him but he was not there when Wade and the others were, so he can't say that he didn't touch them.

I must say, I'm split up. On the one side, there's some evidence to say Wade is lying on the other side, I say: "But some things Michael did aren't normal either."

I listen to both sides and still don't know what the fuck I should really think.

I repeat that none of the things I stated here make MJ guilty of commiting these crimes, I just wanna state why I'm really confused right now and I'll probably stay confused forever...because like Piers said, how can we know what really happened? None of us was there.

Latest info I’ve heard:
*The running time of this documentary has been cut by over half an hour in its latest screenings, without explanation from the filmmaker. Some are saying that they’ve had to edit out a bunch of things that are contradicting other evidence. I’d like to hear a proper report about what removed, because it could be manipulating the story.
*An interview on YouTube of Wades mom from 2011 on a show talking about dancing, got removed from the official channel (someone else has reuploaded). She talked about moving to LA when Wade was “Just about to turn 9”. This contradicts the timeline in the doco about abuse happening constantly from age 7. Why was the original removed recently and who instigated it being removed?

Here it is:

That fucking low-life, know-nothing, done-no-research, smug-faced, I-believe-those-guys, don't-really-care-just-wanna-sell-my-movie director put into place by Piers Morgan:

Right, "masses of evidence", but can't name one and nothing got Jackson convicted. rolleyes

Nobody wants to believe this is true. But we all know it is. But MJ was a victim too, who never got help. He was only acting like the monster who created him - Joe Jackson. That being said, these two guys are brave and deserve to be heard. I'm glad HBO had the balls to show their side of the story.

If this doc teaches us anything, then it's that it's not good to let your child live a life in the spotlights. In Jackson's case and in Robson's case. The way he was dressing up as Michael Jackson and dancing on stage at a very young age... No child should live like that.
And of course we will never know what really went on in Jackson's bedroom, but a grown man wooing young boys away from their parents and spending the night with them... Even if only half of what Robson and Safechuck are saying is true, then Michael Jackson still had an unhealthy obsession with young boys.
