Steely Dan - "Everyone's Gone to The Movies"

This is a song about a child molestor. A pervert. Yikes! Not the usual subject for a song, right?

But the reason for this thread is the demo of the song. I just heard it for the first time. It is COMPLETELY different from the released version. Musically, it sounds like the kind of demo Prince would have done back in the day.

The song was also used in movie theatre promos in the late 70s as well. The line, "Everyone's Gone To The Movieeeees.." line, and then the voiceover.

I'm sure they had no idea the real premise of the song.
