I don't know why, yes I still have my moments with anxiety attacks but it's easier for me when I can listen to Prince. His music just helped in that sense, that I could get out of bed without being anxious or too depressed to get up. Of course he didn't cure it, but his music helps me dealing with it.

His music is an anxiety reducer/reliever. I couple weeks ago I had a strange dizzy spell at work. Coworkers insisted I go to the ER to get checked out. Of course I was in full blown panic attack mode as I literally could not walk on my own. After lots of tests in ER, everything came back fine. And the nurse told me several other people had been in that day with the same symptoms. After that day I was scared driving anywhere for fear of another dizzy spell... the only way I was able to keep calm was prayer & Prince music.

Dizzy spell? As in the sense of not being able to talk properly? I can imagine that this is a scary situation. I hope this won't happen again and that you feel better now hug

Dizzy as in off-balance/room spinning situation. Haven't had any problems since. When I get a panic attack I tell myself two things: 1) I'm a warrior not a worrier and 2) bring it on! It will pass and I will get through it. Those quick positive thoughts help me out & usually the attack passes quickly. It took a while to get me to this point though. You will find what works for you and it is totally possible to overcome them. hug

Thank you for the music, the memories and the inspiration.

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

I'm generally not one to even want to meet well known people. This is because I really don't even know if I have anything in common with them other than I enjoy and appreciate their work. And I don't want to be one of those people who fawn over someone.

Probably 3-4 months after he died, Prince came to me in a dream. I was shocked, and he snarkily said "You wanted to say something to me." I stammered to speak, because I was still in shock that it was actually him. And he was like "Well?" I told him he didn't have to be such an asshole. And then he said "Well you're the one who wanted to talk with me." And he left.

Having nothing in common with him except his music, and not being one to just say things like "I appreciate your music", it really wouldn't leave much to say. And my dream is probably a realistic way to view what would've happened if I had met him. I can appreciate his music without ever knowing him personally. Being at Paisley Park experiencing him there was as close as I ever wanted to be to him.

Was he larger than life in the dream?

ahahaha.... (hoping he'll visit me and say this joke was uncalled 4)

I had a feeling he was around late night when kinda lost at STAPLES when I first saw him. Wasn't sure of it though...could've been anybody else in a very expensive car driving around...but it was a powerful vibe. However, never met him. Just eye contact and glances. Prob saw me each night of his forum shows, when the houselights went up. Unlike many others here, I enjoyed those purple sampler sets.

Anyways, I've only frozen up on one dude...and that was Ronnie James Dio. Boy, was that weird.

For Prince, I'd probably smile and say "ALRIGHT!" His Purple Majesty! King Coco.... I love you, man. Could I have a word with you....er a talk? If you're ever not busy." If I got further, I'd probably ask him who does the album artwork... in the early days it kinda felt like he did... but later on...

But likely, if I'd met him as a complete surprise and others were around, it'd be the simple "Thank you, and Thanks for the Rainbow Children"

and maybe hand signs "EYE"ll b looking out 4 (4 fingers) the next (1) 1 finger.... just to be mildly silly.

unlike the other poster said about Larry Graham. Reading from things hereafter.... and knowing of the turbulent years, I'm not certain P would have been around very long if he didn't approach his life from a new direction. It felt like P speaking of the JH was well intentioned, but not far from his own beliefs, and he was trying his best to adhere to a family. I don't know any of it for certain but I feel that without that resurgence of spirit he found from that "certainty" of the church, he might not have gotten through all the sorrow and grief of those years, particularly if we're to believe he used pills at that time, possibly extensively (mid to late 90's, divorce, death of parents, child, contractual independence)

If I had met him, I would have probably been too awestruck to utter a single word. These days, if I could say something to him, now that he's no longer in this world, I would just say, "You done good, Mr. Nelson."

That is So Great! yes wildsign beret

I think I will remember this when I get depressed for having to work in my country sucking hometown when I should be working in the city of Dallas but forced out here because of some arsewholes in coporate America. But in 30-90 days my ole Variety Band is going to have a Payback with Prince tracks scattered throughout the Set List!!!! biggrin razz lol

Buffalo...yes, very strange. A big storm rolled in the next day so for my own peace of mind I'm chalking it up to air pressure changes.

I would had told Prince how mcuh he meant to me. The last music video that I saw of his on MTV was "Cream" I just knew that we were going to met. There was the instinct of just knowing back in '91 when I was being hounded by sister when she had said; You still like him! No. I love him. sexy
