I don't doubt he did all that but I have to say as a musician and as a man who loves women, only he could do that and still get anything done. People period want time and attention if they are in your life, women are no acception, they demand lots of attention so it really boggles the mind how he did all that and didn't get rape accusations and jealous boyfriends or shots fired at him or knives directed towards him like most of history's past great musicians. Most of them had to deal with grave violence over women, from women or had to deal with accusations over lovers spurned. So how he did it I don't know, maybe because his image was so feminine and he was so small no one could really take him seriously as a predator, i don't know. I do know we can get a whole list of top male entertainers and they have often had to deal with some serious problems over their love lives. As a musician, I've pretty much cut women out of my life, too much distraction for too much drama. When I see men needing that many women, I think often times it's just their ego that needs it, with prince, i wouldn't doubt he really was highly sexed as well as having an insatiable ego.

Remember what Alan Leeds said he had in house groupies. A lot of these women worked for him and during the 1999 tour Vanity, Susan and Jill were all riding on the same bus. He would get off of his bus and go take one to his bus on different days.

I believe along with employees/dates he had his jumpoffs. Nothing serious or long term so as not to interfere with the music.

Where did Alan Leeds say this?

I do doubt he did to that extent. If he did half of what they listed (more likely) , it would still give Frank sinatra a run for his money. He looked to be putting up Wilt Chamberlain numbers with that amount. I simply don't see how he fit them all in...casual encounters or not.

His lack of size wouldnt necessarily stop people from bringing up charges if they wanted to. Also in reference to Frank Sinatra, one friend once stated that "he wasn't a womanizer. He was womanized." Maybe a bit of that went on with Prince. Maybe, women gravitated toward him a bit. However, Sinatra did get accusations of abuse and being a baby daddy thrown at him posthumously...not particularly believable ones, but still.

I know that frank was jerked around pretty bad by ava gardner because he really loved her but I've also heard him advise other men to hire escorts and that "i don't pay them for the sex, I pay them to leave when we're done". Don't doubt abuse, frank was known to be unstable as well as generous.

The entertainers I know of who had terrible times, giants of music, Duke ellington was attacked by a jealous woman with a razor blade who tried to cut up his "pretty face" so he couldn't get anymore women. Jackie Wilson was shot under circumstances that are pretty shady, he said he tried to stop her from killing herself, others say different, either way it probably had something to do with his short life. Jerry Lee Lewis has long been suspected of killiing one of his wives and I think a couple of his wives died under wierd circumstances, Sam Cooke got rolled by a Prostitute and shot by the motel manager. All I can tell you at my age is that I've never really dealt with too many people, male or female, who didn't bring a lot of drama to my life so, therefore, I think Prince's dad was right when he called women a "distraction" for him. Fortunately he only needed 4 hours sleep.

Well Alan said he had to stop the women from killing each other on that bus. I have always wanted to know how he did not get stabbed or shot but we have no way of knowing what really was going on behind close door.

I still wonder if he trusted some bimbo on this pain pill/med stituation.

which women sheila and kat? i always thought they had a competitive chemistry going that was good for the stage. wouldn't mind seeing them wrestle in baby oil, Kat was probably more physical but sheila could probably use the drum skills pounding on her head. I always heard sheila was lesbian, always, yet she was taken by Prince. Lisa too? that's what the lists say, Lisa would have been tops on my list, cute as a button soft spoken, talented but she was a lesbian too. Prince had that effect on lesbians i guess, there was some lesbian writer, bell hooks i think, who said she'd want to bump uglies with prince.

Ellis, i recognize the name, was it his bodyguard? don't doubt it, jealousy makes men and women crazy. Prince did the right thing honestly having bodyguards. My boxing heroes, the ones who needed them, had bodyguards, not because they couldn't fight but because they didn't have to outside the ring. One of my old trainers told me how Marvelous Marvin was being harassed in Hawai where he said they hated black people, so the bodyguards ushered him out the back and dealt with it. When i was 29 and still a knucklehead, that didn't make sense, now it does.

I never doubted the stories about Jill, Vanity and Susan. the ladies overlapping doesn't surprise me. But each had a history with Prince and they weren't just jump-offs. Casual to some extent--sure.

It doesn't mean I have to believe that long list supplied by the anonymous blogger

OMG! I worked with a lesbian once that said the same damn thing "Prince was the only man she would have no problem giving it up to." Dude could even get lesbians to want him! I am telling you me and my husband was at one of his concerts and this little man had a strange effect on people!

I don't think she was talking about Vanity, Susan, and Jill as being jump offs. (especially Susan And Vanity) those relationships had a lot more meaning than causal sex. I think she meant other women he'd find on the road.

I think Vanity thought very highly of herself, that's why she didn't take his crap. Out of all of his women she was the one that fought back, and didn't let him get away with it. She gave Prince a run for his money. She didn't just wait for Prince to come knocking on the tour bus door... She was out with Adam Ant, making Prince sweat a little, lol. All the books attest to it that she didn't sit around waiting for him. Which is one of the reasons why they had such an intense tumultuous relationship. Prince even admitted it himself. "As much as we loved, we would fight. She was very headstrong cuz she knew she was the finest woman in the world." So if there's anyone that didn't take it, it was Vanity. And she actually walked away from it all (including Purple Rain) because of it.

The main women like Susan, Jill, Vanity, must not of thought too highly of themselves. I mean seriously as a woman, I wouldn't have sat on that damn bus or anywhere else and have another woman be picked for the night.

Makes me ashamed of what women will do for stardom.

Which is why they had such an intense tumultuous relationship. Prince even admitted it himself. "As much as we loved we would fight. She was very headstrong cuz she knew she was the finest woman in the world." So if there's anyone that didn't take it, it was Vanity. And she actually walked away from it all (including Purple Rain) because of it. [Edited 2/26/17 18:25pm]

Let's not fool ourselves, she put up with that shit too.

No problem if you see it that way. I see it a little differently. It's all good though. smile

I read that Carole Davis post. If I recall, she said both good and bad things about him.

I have to see if I can find it. Someone put all of the comments after his death on one webpage.

Do you remember what she said about him? I guess it's not on her Facebook anymore. I don't see it.
