Prince music equipment

I came across this via a FB site and while I don't know if it's accurate, I thought it was informative and has equipment listed for many musicians/bands.

I just recently learned how so I turned your link into a clickable link for practice: http://equipboard.com/pro...nce-guitar

Most of it is correct

.

But, about the Epiphone Crestwood Custom it belongs to The Roots guitar player. Prince threw it on a TV show and broke the headstock (Vernon Reid made some angry tweets about it). But Prince asked for a luthier to repair it

.

And Prince is known for using Turbo Distortion, not Turbo Overdrive effect

I do have to question that site because some of that stuff is grossly inaccurate. A lot of that information is fed(erroneously) from some of the more popular music forums. Forums such as Gearslutz,Pootools/Avid, UAD, all have similar marketing protocols. Click and go buy at your own risk.

Yeah, I think that whole site gets affiliate revenue if you buy anything via their links.

Most of the equipment is well known to Prince fans (the effects, the guitars, etc)

Yes, there are some not accurate info (like the one I mentioned) and some of them have no reliable sources, like Roland GP16 or the Rotovibe.
The most important thing is to check the ones who have info from guitar techs or P interviews.

Some of them have the line "Prince can be seen playing [...] in this photo", but sometimes it doesnt mean it´s his gear. Sometimes, he can borrow from others, like the Epiphone guitar I mentioned earlier.

If you click the studio equipment tab under Prince, that should tell you how much they really know about the Artist vs. what the probabilities are of selling something on a site.

Consoles and rack effects? Yeah, they're not selling many of those. But they're probably moving a more than negligible number of stomp boxes and probably some guitars. That's how sites like that make money, largely.

Anyway, like I said, good part of it is accurate. And it´s not hard to find info on Google. Check for the Guitar Player, Guitar World and Bass Player articles, pictures of his pedalboard, etc
