Since His Passing there are many articles emerging about his Silent "Giving"

I thought Id start a thread to capture them all in one Place....

Please feel free if you are so inclined to help me assemble them all in one easy to access place...

THis is one I found today, its from April 22, but I hadnt seen it before....

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/prince-reached-out-gave-money-delray-beach-art-school/zOS3IiKbMjIcpkUS13wvVO/

Prince virtuoso innovator and icon, will forever be known for giving the world a bold, powerful canon of music. But his generosity, it turns out, hits even closer to home here in Palm Beach County.

“Because of him, there are kids who have cello cases, little third-graders who don’t have to carry their beat-up cellos around,” says local music educator Drew Tucker. “There are lights on theaters, because of him.”

Here is a Link to the Twins , who perform under the Name DOUBLE TROUBLE who are mentioned in the above Link, however Prince is not mentioned in this one..

Aptly nicknamed “The Silent Angel” when word got out about his charity work after his death, Prince will not only go down in history for his musical talent, but for his generosity and philanthropy.

Thanks, LoveJunky. This is such an important part of who Prince was.
I was thinking about all the anonymous individuals who were helped too like this woman in Boston described in the HQ article:

From Jill Willis, Prince's former publicist:

"The middle-of-the-night calls from Prince were a consistent reality. Two, three, four in the morning—having the phone ring was not uncommon. And if you didn't answer, he'd call back. Or call someone to call you to say that Prince was trying to reach you. "Got a pen?" was the way many of those conversations started. A not untypical story: being awoken at three-ish in the morning on a weeknight. "Um, got a pen?" "Not under my pillow. I'll be right back. Okay, I'm back. What's up?" "I'm not sure which morning show it was, but one of them was doing a story on this woman—I think she was in Boston. Somewhere in Massachusetts. She has spent most of the past 10 years trying to save money to buy a building for feeding homeless people, and she's found a building but doesn't have enough money. I want to find her and give her the money." "Okay. Did you catch her name?" "No." "Okay. We'll find her." "Let me know. Thank you."

Here's a link to the article. It's the first story at the top of the page: http://www.gq.com/about/prince

Must Include this from Van Jones...

The Purple One was secretly Green.

In an emotional interview on CNN, political commentator Van Jones revealed that his close friend Prince wasn't just a musical icon but also a major philanthropist.

Makes me think about all the charities and causes that depended on his generosity. All the more reason to pay it forward whenever we can. dove dove

He was also grossly taken advantage of by numerous "charitable causes" and their many solicitors, which is quite sad and not something to be swept under the carpet in this reflective time either.

That would not be his fault but there's. Since when is giving bad. If what you say is correct this is the charity fault and not Princes. He was trying to help. We should all help each other without any worries or expectations. That is how it should be.

Lest we forget,

His Generosity and Giving was a constant, something that he was doing even in the earlier years....

Here's a cheque for $12,000 that Prince donated to an African-American library in Louisville, four days after 9/11 (although that is most likely unconnected). Prince asked that the donation be kept private, and the library only revealed his generosity upon his passing.

and this:

(1984)

In a surprise, free performance at Gallaudet College, Prince, the rock star, dazzled and thrilled about 2,500 handicapped students from the campus and the city’s public schools yesterday afternoon.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2016/04/22/the-time-prince-gave-a-free-concert-at-a-college-for-deaf-students/?utm_term=.31dbd826f9d7

Promoters said Prince requested to do the show for handicapped students who would not otherwise be able to see or hear him perform. It was his second charitable appearance this week.

Prince was such a loving, warm, caring, kind & generous man. He would always help other's without giving it a second thought. He cared about people; he cared about the world. Thank God we had Prince in our world, if only for a short time. He sure made it all worth our while. prince heart
