Meron Bekure's (Prince's personal assistant) statement after his passing

I happened to come across Prince's personal assistant Meron Bekure's Twitter account this morning. I don't think a lot is known about her. According to her LinkedIn profile she graduated from St. Cloud State university in 2012 with a degree in community health. Anyway as I was looking at her Twitter account I came across a statement she shared from Instagram after Prince's passing. It's very beautiful. What a beautiful soul. πŸ’œ Got me all in tears again.😒

Never imagined I would be writing this, nor do I know how to put all of this into words! You were truly just one of a kind, not enough words/or stories will do any justice to describe who you were to all of us! You were not only my boss, but an amazing and caring family, most creative/innovative being, the disciplinary, the toughest/brilliant leader, who taught and influenced all of us around you. And I forgot completely hysterical! You inspired and pushed me everyday to think beyond limitations and eliminate words such as can't, don't, shouldn't cuz with you there was no such thing! It was God's will for me to have experienced your life in your last couple of years with you. It truly has molded me into a new Meron! I'm so thankful to have all the beautiful memories, to have met the most amazing/talented people from all over the world, built amazing friendships and bonds. It has been super odd for the last few of days not waking up to a bunch of emails with hundreds of things to do for the day, but that chapter now is done. Now you remain in our hearts forever. One thing I know for sure is, God is intentional in all things, and he loves you more than all of us and the world put together so he took you away. Though this all still hasn't really processed just yet, and I'm completely heartbroken, I can rest knowing that you are in the hands of the greatest. πŸ’œRest In Peace PreeeenceπŸ’œ

Such beautiful words. This is hard for all of us, but he is in God's arms now, and that is all that matters!

Very nice words...brought the tears especially reading he is with God now...

Love that he seemed to help and guide all around him in a positive direction.

--- I think he kept positive people around him. What really stands out is her comment about 100 e-mails he would send the previous personal said the same thing. He had work ethic and drive. I will never believe all that came from drugs.

I know people are a bit suspicious of Meron but can't imagine what it's been like for her having been there that day.

Julia Ramadan's tribute was beautiful too:

Prince.

You were all that contrasts in pure harmony.

Thank you for teaching me that my power is limitless. That boundaries aren't real.

You held a mirror to me and showed me a Queen. You unlocked a strength I didn't know. A depth I didn't know. A capacity for love I didn't know. Through years with you, I found the woman that you saw in me from day one.

You threw me in the deep end daily, and beamed with pride when I stayed afloat.

You schooled me in almost everything, but never condescendingly. Your standards and expectations were as high as the heavens, and all who knew you are greater for it. You always pushed me and always celebrated me on the other side. For every tear there was a hug.

You taught me never to settle. Never to take no for an answer. Your work ethic was awe-inspiring. You never got comfortable. You were constantly evolving, excelling, improving and perfecting. Mediocrity didn't exist in your world.

You generously shared all that you knew with those around you. I live every day through the lessons I learned with you.

You were my mentor but also my baby. I'd fearlessly stand up to any Goliath to protect you. For you taught me I was David.

We laughed SO much. Sometimes at your expense. Sometimes at mine. You didn't take yourself too seriously and I loved that about you. I think you did too.

We made the seemingly impossible real. Spent some nights (read: mornings) dancing, and others sitting in the kitchen talking about God. You made me omelets that I didn't ask for. I made you take your vitamins.

We taught each other the ways of our hearts and found a space between that was ours. I long to go back there, but I know you are free. We are free.

You're taking care of me even now, through the amazing family you brought me.

My heart is in a million pieces, but I can rejoice in my grief knowing that you are Home.

Thank you. I love you.

Thanks for sharing this. I was one a bit suspicious of Meron but then I read this post and saw her loving interactions with the 3rdeye girls on Twitter and I felt just awful for having those feelings. sad

I remember reading on a couple of posts that Prince shouldnt have surrounded himself with young people .. Does anybody remember when Prince was on Arsenio and he said that if he wasnt a singer he'd want to be a teacher.. I honestly think thats what he was setting himself up to do as far as music and the music business. And in his own way I think he helped to influence quite a few young people during his time on eartth . I think it was more than just some middle-aged man going through a mid-life crisis.

I was thinking on that also, he also said something similar in an interview he did when he was in his 20s iirc, so it must have come naturally to him.

Is that all you got out of what she wrote? If she made him take a vitamin maybe she saw it was a vitamin. In addition these two ladies along with a few others have written beautiful things about working for him. I just don't see drugged behavior that you would expect if he was long term user of these pills.

What a STUPID thing to say. When you love someone, you want them to take care of themselves & be well. Sounds like they took care of each other. Her sentiment is beautiful, your observation is awkward. neutral

StopIt

Good Lord, but there Are brilliant, And independent, And driven, And self-made young people out there also! He surrounded himself with lots of substandard, lazy, ignorant, garbage to his detriment. He got a a rise out of trying to lift up Lesser creatures somehow, like a humane society for humans. What a waste.
