Prince being a Jehovas Witness

Don't jehovas witnesses have to go from door to door and try to "recrute" more of them? Isn't that one major part they have to do?

If so how does Prince do it? Does he talk about it to everyone he knows as he cannot be running from door to door or does he get a special treatment and they say he doesn't need to go running around as he is making it public to such a big audience anyway...?

There have been reports posted in the media that Prince has in fact gone door to door with Larry Graham "Witnessing".

This horse ain't dead at all, I'm a hardcore fan (whateva that means) and I am not on the org 24/7 so yeah I can't get this pic out of my head of Prince going from door to door. How on earth does he do that and what do the people say who open the door?

Hilarious! Thanks for that, though I'm sure there is not much truth behind this.

Although the door to door ministry has been the main tool for witnessing it is not the only way. It's people the witnesses are interested in so a door isn't a necessity to give a witness. I'm sure Prince comes into contact with people on a daily basis so there is his opportunity.

If Prince came knocking on my door, I would pretend to be interested in the Jehovah Witness's stuff as long as possible, he would make it interesting lol.

not sure how it works, but for some reason this thread reminds me of the lady on the bike who recently dropped by Paisely and was told "this is private property"

would be very funny if we ever heard a report of Prince going door-knocking, only to be told "this is private property. please do not trespass"

this too shall pass

My grandmother became Jehovah's Witness (despite my horror). We fought a lot about it because she was a senior citizen when she converted, and we lived in NYC. It was mandatory at that time that you go door to door witnessing. (Hence the name Jehovah's Witness). I let her pull off a couple of "door to door" gigs before I finally put my foot down and made claim that they were exploiting Senior Citizens. So since that time, I am unaware as to whether she continued to do it or not. Perhaps she did it when I wasn't home.

But all in all, although the Jehovah's Witnesses has some quirks about the that I am really not in agreement with. They are by no means the "evil cult" that most of society paints them out to be. Perhaps some are, but trust me....my grandmother and other extended family members werent. I've also attented several meetings at the Kingdom Hall. It's boring as all get out....but I saw nothing there that would cause me any real concern. I just think they educate by "rote" and they lack that actual true relationship with God....and they neglect the Spirituality and Communion with God and Christ, and by communion I mean to let God lead your heart and mind Spiritually, once you develop that relationship with him. For some reason, they are unable to do that. It seems that what people in the Kingdom Hall says about them is more important than what God says. But heck, many institutions have that same "group think" dynamic.

Aside from that....I really don't have much issue with them.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

That story is comical, especially this part:

"Then they start in on this Jehovah's Witnesses stuff,'' Rochelle recalled. ''I said, 'You know what? You've walked into a Jewish household, and this is not something I'm interested in.' He says, 'Can I just finish?'"

Prince can do door-to-door and there are reports of him doing so. He just has to be more conservatively dressed, wear his hair in a more 'modest' style. Perhaps some security.

Prince can also use interviews to achieve the same aim. Prince also has access to celebrities that most 'regular' JW's would not have access to. In addition, tour staff and private Bible studies that don't have as many security issues. Apart from media articles, JW's can count time on all of these and include them on monthly report cards. All the above are viable witnessing methods. I'm aware of this because I studied with JW's and still know some.

There isn't any reason 2...I am a Christian that accepts all denominations of Christianity. I also respect the Jewish Faith and I disagree with Islam, however I respect their level of devotional worship to the same Father in Heaven.

All three Faiths are similar.

Jehova's Witness's just have more rules. If anyone was on the money with their personal belief system...They better be ready to have their thought patterns examined and studied...because the discipline it takes to follow all the rules under absolute morality are tough. They come down to every nook and cranny or your heart and everything U think second after second.

I'd be ashamed to say that I totally live up to any divine rule like Jesus...So I say...Jesus is within...What I do, What I say, Jesus says and does.

Christ Within.....ChristIAN.

Jesus told me to tell Prince not to beat me with a leather zebra belt if I put up a Christmas tree in our living rooms. razz

Heard plenty of reports that he's done the door-to-door witnessing.

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't the only Christians who do this kind of thing. Mormons/Latter Day Saints and Seventh Day Adventists also do. Some Islamic groups have started doing the same thing too.

Jehovah's Witnesses talk about God/Jesus/Bible everywhere though, not just at doors. A bit like Jesus did. So even if Prince didn't do the door-to-door witnessing (which he evidently has done) we can be pretty sure that he preaches in other avenues (no pun intended). He couldn't be exempt. One couldn't be considered as a Jehovah's Witness unless they did their ministry.

Technically, Jehova's Witnesses aren't Christian. They're something entirely on their own.

Christian (Χριστιανός) means 'follower of Christ'. Jehovah's Witnesses most undeniably follow Christ. By this definition - there are people who don't believe Christ existed, yet view him (or his character!) as having an admirable lifestyle and therefore live their lives according to the way he did - who are considered as Christian (Despite not believing Christ existed!) because they follow his way of life smile A similar principle applies to a more common phenomenon than the one mentioned above; followers of Christ who believe he existed as a man, but had no divinity as such.

Christianity doesn't only apply to mainstream Christianity - it applies to any groups who 'follow' and try to imitate the life course of the Christ. Jehovah's Witnesses, despite being non-trinitarian, are then technically considered as Christian. wink

hmph! NUH UH!

In order to be Christian, you cannot deny the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. The Jehova's Witnesses are not Christian by this alone.
