Michael Bloomberg Considers Run for President

https://www.bloomberg.com...inst-trump

Former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg is once again considering a run for president in 2020, with an adviser saying he is concerned that the current crop of Democratic contenders will not be able to defeat President Donald Trump.

Bloomberg, 77, had considered a run earlier this year but decided not to run and instead support Democratic efforts to regain control in Washington. Now he is open once again to running against Trump himself...

...News reports said Bloomberg is expected to file candidate paperwork this week in Alabama, where the filing deadline is Friday. Several other states, including New Hampshire, have filing deadlines as early as next week.

Bloomberg’s entry into the race comes as the Democratic field is coalescing around four candidates, none of whom has a clear path to victory.

I'm glad he decided to run. The so-called progressives are unelectable. They are likeable, but unrealistic.

Does he stand a chance on getting the nomination?

I guess we'll have to see. He hasn't announced but his namesake news service is putting it out there. He is afraid Biden can't win. If he does run he has seriously deep pockets.

He is. Regardless of of age or politics Bloomberg is better than most everyone in politics. Period.

Because this 'crop' doesn't look like they can beat out the big bad wolf.

Bernie doesn't have what it takes to get the nom. He's ran how many times? And not once even got close.

I would vote for Bernie if he got the nom. But freaky won't vote for whoever gets the nom. That's how we got stuck with Trump in the first place.

Even freaky's hero Noam Chomsky said "hold your nose and vote for Hillary". Purists pretend that anybody who voted for her loves her instead of the glaring point of look at what you got.

Of course he would. That was not the point. You do understand, we have to get the horror out this time?

Ah sorry, I misread your post at the time.

I don't think anyone bar Sanders (and to a very lesser extent Warren, who I can't see beating Trump) will get you out of the horror though. Trump isn't an aberration, he makes perfect sense.

Maybe academically from the outside looking in. If you lived here, you would see the vast amount of slippage with Trump. The rhetoric alone is amped to the gills with the little tweeting tyrant. I could go on - been around for quite a few Presidents.

Well obviously he's made a joke of the office of the US President but ok, fair enough, i'm not inside it. It may not seem it but I actually really appreciate the insights from across the spectrum I get on here.
