Fox News pulls Jeanine Pirro’s program

https://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/la-fi-ct-jeanine-pirro-fox-news-20190316-story.html

Fox News pulled Saturday’s episode of conservative commentator Jeanine Pirro’s program after publicly admonishing her for on-air comments she made last week about a Muslim congresswoman’s hijab.

“Justice With Judge Jeanine” — which airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. Pacific and is typically the most watched cable news program on the night — was replaced with a repeat...

A representative for Fox News did not comment on Pirro’s status or the reason for the programming change.

“Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?” Pirro said in the scripted opening of her March 9 program that dealt with Omar, a popular target of conservative pundits since she entered Congress.

...Fox News declined to say whether Ms. Pirro had been formally suspended. “We are not commenting on internal scheduling matters,” the network said in a statement on Saturday evening.

A former prosecutor known for fiery monologues, Ms. Pirro is one of the most fervent on-air champions of President Trump, an old friend from her days in New York political circles who often urges his Twitter followers to tune in to her show.

Among those calling her comments prejudiced was a Muslim producer at Ms. Pirro’s own network. Several advertisers said they would no longer sponsor her show.

...Fox News was also grappling with an uproar over another of its star hosts, the pundit Tucker Carlson, who has faced scrutiny for offensive comments he made on a shock-jock radio program about a decade ago. The comments were recently published by the left-wing advocacy group Media Matters for America.

Mr. Carlson did not miss any of his regular network appearances this past week. On air, he thanked officials at Fox News for backing him. The network has not issued its own statement on the matter.

Trump tells Fox to 'bring back' Jeanine Pirro; source says she was suspendedfor Islamophobic remarks

By Brian Stelter, CNN Business
Updated 12:27 PM ET, Sun March 17, 2019

“Jeanine Pirro, whose show did not air on Saturday night, was suspended by Fox News after her widely criticized commentary doubting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's patriotism, according a source familiar with the matter.

Fox did not announce the suspension publicly. The network declined to confirm or deny that Pirro has been suspended. There is no word on whether Pirro's show will return next week.
At the same time, there is no indication that she has been fired from Fox. The source said she has not been fired.
Pirro is one of the network's highest-rated weekend hosts, well known for her vehement defenses of President Donald Trump and attacks against his perceived enemies.”

On Sunday morning the president returned the favor, tweeting, "Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well."
Last Saturday night Pirro questioned whether Omar's Islamic religious beliefs stand in opposition to the US Constitution, prompting Fox to say "we strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro's comments."

Meet the 24-Year-Old Who Found the Tucker Carlson Tapes

Madeline Peltz works the night shift at the liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America.

March 17, 2019, at 9:00 a.m

After many Carlson-watching hours, the 24-year-old researcher developed a working theory, which she outlined on the nonprofit's website: that Carlson is using his platform on Fox News to introduce white-nationalist ideas to the mainstream, making him a uniquely prominent "mouthpiece for white supremacy."

Peltz dug into his recent past and discovered a trove of appearances he made on shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show between 2006 and 2011. She found a series of misogynistic, racist and homophobic remarks Carlson made, the audio of which Media Matters published this week.

In response, Carlson was defiant, casting himself as the victim of "the great American outrage machine," a mob of power-seeking organizations and people he says are waging a political war to censor him.

That goes to show you that he’s worried about his image behind closed doors, that he sends people out to lie for him. He spews anti-Muslim rhetoric all the time and accuses Muslims of being the culprits of terrorism in America, while he ignores all the crimes and mass killings/domestic terrorism by white supremacists in this country. That denial is strange coming from a man whose own father supported the KKK.

Can you imagine what some of these idiots would have said if Obama was publicly complaining that Keith Olberman was no longer on the air at MSNBC ?

Probably our resident "legal experts " would be saying that this was grounds for impeachment!

Effing double standard... it's party first, for the republicans. Trump tweeted a thank you to the part for a 93% approval rating. All the others are soooo afraid of his base that they allow his shit to stink up this country.

Actually I can. I remember how they would hyperventilate over just about everything the man said or did or thought about doing. lol

-

They never trusted him, so any opportunity to validate their distrust, they took it and ran.

-

I recall Rush Limbaugh swearing up and down that Obama would get rid of conservative talk radio too. They tried their best to make him out to be an evil, diabolical boogyman antichrist from hell. And now that they happen to have somone with a "R" in front of his name in the WH who really is unethical and immoral.....crickets. lol

But... the unethical and immoral potus in the WH has a 93% approval rating among their constituents... so wrong or not, they dare not challenge him or his lies because it's party first before people, the GOP mantra.
