Legend of the Dark Knight... Did What?

gotham-barbara-feat.jpg

Barbara survived the episode. I had a feeling she was going to get killed but she kept kicking ass through out the episode and then I thought to myself "Hey she might not die after all"

tumblr_pk3oewytSB1v5u394_540.jpg

So funny when Penguin said "I'm going to miss you Ed" and Riddler said "I'll miss you too Oswald" Then Penguin yells "not you, the dog" falloff

leslie-thompkins-415x280.jpg

Ok there was a scene where Lee saw Bruce and yelled "Bruce" then Bruce saw her and responded by calling her name "Lee" so was it a call out to Bruce Lee hmmm ????

It's official, she is Barbara Lee Gordon.

Glad she got stabbed

penguin-riddler-header.jpg

Classic scene where they showed Riddler and Penguin about to stab each other in the back but both decide not to. Some times there is honor among thieves.

Would have love to see more of Alfred

Good ending having Bruce leave the city and said he will return when the city needs him again

Ok they showed some scenes for next week but I will save my responses for after I watch the episode. I think it's only one hour, it should be a 2 hour finale

Seriously, this show just keeps getting better. Great episode that actually felt like a finale. I'm assuming next week's final episode will be set sometime afterwards. I haven't watched any trailers or anything for the final episode because I want to go in fresh.

I'm really happy that Barbara survived. Seems like a weird environment to raise a kid in though, mother a crime boss, father a police commissioner and the step mother is a former crime boss/doctor. But hey, it's Gotham.

Loved all the scenes with Riddler and Penguin. They're easily two of the best characters on the show. Plus, they kind of mentioned it in the episode but it's worth pointing out, those two have come a long way. Penguin was once an umbrella man for she who shan't be named and Riddler was originally working for the GCPD. And now they're two of the top crime bosses in Gotham City.

I was always expecting Harper to turn. Maybe the twist is that she never will.

Really liked that ending where Bruce leaves and Selina looks on, having never gotten to say goodbye. I have a feeling Bruce will pay for that next week. Even if there is a time jump, women never forget. Never.

Only one more episode to go. Such a shame because over the years, Gotham has gone from strength to strength. It really seems to have found its footing now but unfortunately, that's all we get. I'd love a sequel show with the same cast (apart from Bruce) only set 10 years later and have the show centred around the first appearances of Batman. Almost like a Batman Year One kind of thing. Cast a more impressive looking Bruce Wayne and you've got a great show in the making.

Oh hell yeah to that. It could be what Smallville should have been, the first 5 years Smallville and the last 5 years Metropolis. Thus the first 5 years Gotham and the last 5 years Batman.

Bring back Harvey Dent, make him a friend of Bruce's and then, at the end of season 4, have him turn into Two Face so that in season 5 (the final season) you'd have this story that's been getting built up for 5 years finally reach its conclusion. And of course, along the way we'd have Batman take on the usual list of enemies, The Riddler, Penguin, Bane, The Joker, and maybe some lesser known ones like Man-Bat and Temple Fugate. There's big money in a Batman TV series. I'm surprised they haven't done one yet.

I agree 100% with that. Wouldn't mind if they had a female like Wonder woman, Vixen or Zantana (who was in the animated series) to make some cameos through out the series, but still mostly Batman series, maybe towards the end bring in Robin.

Apparently the final episode is going to jump 10 years into the future, though not immediately as the previews showed Bruce returning to the castle in the Asian mountains where he was trained in martial arts by the League of Shadows. And the actress playing Selina Kyle is not going to be part of this episode.

https://deadline.com/2019...202599259/

Sher says it was her choice not to participate as she felt weird playing a character 10 years older than herself. Anyway, the final episode revolves around the first appearance of Bruce Wayne as Batman.

OK the big elephant we need to talk about. Yes they tortured us by not showing us Bruce Wayne and showing Batman at the last 5 seconds of the series. So who was the actor????

GothamGoodbye_marquee_5cc11092ad3c85.217

Honestly the finale just didn't feel like a finale. The name of the episode even says "the beginning". It was a good set up for a Batman series. Would FOX cancel Gotham to make a Batman series? Oh I hope so. Honestly I wouldn't mind if there wasn't a Batman TV series, they would make TV movies or a big screen movies with the Gotham cast and a new actor in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Ok I highly doubt it but it would be cool if the actor who replaces Ben Affleck would be the same Batman for Gotham and for the Justice League movies.

Motherhood does change you. I can say that for a fact. Plus, I used to have red(ish) hair! Definitely a big step up for Barbara.

The Riddler and Penguin were always a major highlight of the show throughout its entire run. All they were missing were the costumes. So happy they got them in the final episode.

Jim only had the moustache for 2 scenes. Very disappointing.

The Joker was fantastic. Threatening to kill a young child. Exactly the kind of villain I like to see. I especially liked that line "she has her mother's eyes....for now". I liked the little nod to Batman 89 too when Gordon asked what to call him and Joker replied "Jack". Perhaps Jack Napier will be one of this Joker's aliases.

The new Catwoman was actually pretty good. She looks and sounds like the previous actress, but older. Good choice.

Loved how the Joker didn't care about Ecco dying. As he said himself, "plenty more fish in the sea". And we know a certain Dr Quinzel is likely next in line.

The Batsuit was awful though. Just awful. I get that they had a low budget and they're not going to go all out for a top of the range suit for seconds of screen time but even if they used a Ben Affleck suit from a costume shop it would have looked better. The actor in the suit was just a stuntman with David Mazouz's face CG'd onto him. Cheaply, I might add. Again, low budget, I get it. They probably just should have recast him though.

So that's it. No more Gotham. The end of an era. It had its share of dodgy moments over the years but overall it was a really good show. For the most part, the cast were great. Penguin, Riddler, Selina Kyle, Barbara, Ra's Al Ghul, Alfred, Bullock, Jim Gordon. They even had a great Joker by the end of it all. The best live action Joker since Jack Nicholson, I'd say. Plus, no Fish Mooney. Hopefully we get a Batman show out of it with the same cast, apart from the pencil neck they had playing Bruce Wayne. He needs recasting. But everyone else should stay. Its unlikely to happen but hey, a girl can dream. Plus it's past midnight here so it's officially my birthday. I'll make it a birthday wish.
