NFL 2012 Regular Season, Pt. 2

I'm so ticked off over this loss to Pittsburgh. Giants luck ran out, and their bad habits finally bit them in the ass. Carl Banks said it best - the Giants have become feast or famine on offense. Always going for the big play (even on short yardage) and not using the underneath plays enough. That's what burned them against Philly. Hakeem Nicks even mentioned opposing teams are scheming against the big play and the offense needs to adjust.

Where the fuck is the tackling???? This shit has been going on for weeks now, regardless of the running back. Redman and the Steeler o-line just ran it down NY's throat.

My Cowboys are just not there....Romo was on FIRE when they were running the no-huddle.

Maybe they need to change it up a bit and run that exclusively for two series in a row.

Bruce Carter looks like the truth. nod

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The Steelers took it to the GMen in the 4th qtr. Couldn't believe what i was seeing.

The Steelers secondary were actually covering receivers. eek

The offensive line looked good opening holes for Isaac Redman. I like

what Todd Haley has done with Big Ben. He's making Big Ben a complete qb.

I like to see Big Ben checking down to his receivers underneath instead of always

trying to hit the big play. The Giants were uncharacteristically out of sync on offense

yesterday. It was shocking to see the Steelers hold them to a total of 182 yards.

NFC East isn't decided yet. Giants have a brutal second-half schedule.

I'm at a loss for words after the Giants disgraceful performance. Offense, defense, special teams - NOTHING was clicking. Now the Cowboys are back in the division race.

Everyone knows this is the Giants MO. They will hit a stretch when they are playing poor

football and just when you say the Giants can't the Giants bite you in the ass like a

cobra. The Giants will be fine.

Nope there still in Carolina. The Panther fans i encounter hate the Saints more

than the Falcons and they still revel in defeating the Saints earlier this year.

Folks, check out the Jets story in today's New York Daily News. Several anonymous players and higher-ups in the Jets organization have said what we already knew - Tim Tebow is simply not very good. "He's terrible!" was one quote. Great job Woody, bringing in the biggest distraction in the NFL just to grab headlines and sell a few more tickets.

"I've seen better receiving corps in college than we have on our team", another Jets source said. What a fucking joke of a franchise.

I listed my PSLs for my Texans seats yesterday. Today, I received four offers - three that were for about 1/3 of what I was asking, and 1 for my asking price! I accepted that one with a quickness.

Let's all pray the buyer is legitimate and pays!

The Jets ARE a joke, and have been for as long as I can remember.

Tim Tebow is a great football player who went 8 - 4 as quarterback of the Broncos last year, and then beat the Steelers in the playoffs before getting beaten by the Patriots. And yet, morons think he can't play.

Weird!

Tim Tebow is a very good athlete/football player, but he is NOT a legit NFL starting QB. His mechanics are awful - numbers don't lie. Idiots like Shit Bayless want to make him out to be Joe Montana because he had some flukey wins, and is a nice guy who's up front about his beliefs. From what I saw last year, it was Denver's defense and an incredible FG kicker that kept them in games until Tebow finally caught fire in the fourth quarter. But what happened against the Patriots?

Tim Tebow is so great that John Elway, a HOFamer, two-time champion (who knows more about football than us), couldn't wait to ship him out of town. Elway realised a Tebow-style offense will only take you so far. In today's NFL, your QB has to make accurate downfield throws, which is not Tebow's strength.

And if anyone thinks Rex Ryan wanted this cat, I have a bridge to sell you. It's squarely on the owner.

What happened against the Patriots is that Tebow broke a rib in the first quarter. I'm guessing that limited him.

But if your larger question is, "What happened to the guy in the second round of the playoffs? I mean, all he did was take over a 1-3 team after four games, with an offense designed around a completely different quarterback, and go 8-4 and beat the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime in the first round of the playoffs!" then I'd say Tebow has nothing to be ashamed of!

I respect Elway but let's be honest - he traded Tebow for a first-ballot unanimous Hall of Famer. It's not like he got rid of Tebow to give the quarterback job to some scrub.

And all due respect to Peyton Manning, but his win percentage with the Broncos is exactly the same as Tebow's was. But Peyton had an entire offseason to get an offense structured around him. Tebow came in cold, and I do definitely agree that his style of quarterbacking is not like anyone else's.

The worst thing that could have happened to Tebow was ending up on the Jets. Rex Ryan is a complete idiot who is wedded at the hip to Mark Sanchez. The rest of the players on that team are all major doofuses.

But I'll bet you this - give Tebow a full season, and he could get that collection of castoffs to the playoffs.

Tebow!

If the Jet coaches felt Tebow could help, don't you think he'd get more looks? With Tebow, you have to rebuild the entire offene to fit his limited skills. The blocking schemes are totally different than they are for a conventional QB. I lol at all this stupid wildcat nonsense - the best offense for Tebow is the read-option. Jets aren't built to run that shit.

A few years from now, we're going to find who really wanted Tebow. I guarantee it was the clueless owner.

Sadly i don't think the 2012 San Francisco 49'ers are as good as the 2011 49'ers.

I predict a first round loss in the playoffs.

So...my New Orleans Saints have gone from 0-4 to 5-5 (that's 5-1 since their horrific start for the mathematically challenged out there), and no one wants to say anything.

Well...they havent really beaten anyone legit (other than the now 9-1 Filthy Fowls) so I'm not going to scream too loudly. If they drop the Niners next week to go a game over .500, the strut and shit talking may begin.

A few years from now, we're going to find who really wanted Tebow. I guarantee it was the clueless owner.

Or, it could be a money issue:

Tebow is one of the last remaining players that should be playing under the old CBA rookie contract structure. Under the old CBA 1st round draft picks often had low base value deals to comply with CBA rules with easily attainable escalators based on playing time. For instance Dustin Keller this year saw his salary increase to $3.052 million as he entered the final year of his deal. As a QB drafted in the 1st round those incentives are increased dramatically.

Tebow's rookie contract had a base value of $9.7125 million with an easily achievable value of $11.125 million based on reaching the standard playing time escalators of either 35% as a rookie or 45% any year thereafter. He unlocked that in 2011 when he played in about 76% of the Broncos offensive snaps. As a first round QB he had the potential to turn the contract into a $33 million dollar deal through incentives that would only be realized if he turned out to be the next John Elway. The more realistic number was that the contract would be worth $22.5 million if he developed into a starting QB.

The additional $11.25 million, if earned, would be added onto the backend of Tebow's 5 year contract in 2013 and 2014. He had two avenues to earn the escalators. If he played in 55% of the snaps in two of his first three seasons (2010-2012) he would earn an additional $5 million in 2013 and $6.25 million in 2014. If he plays in 70% of the snaps in 2013 he earns the full payment in 2014.

Tebow's current cap number in 2013 is $2,586,875 which includes a guaranteed payment of $1,531,875 that goes to the Denver Broncos as part of the terms of the trade. If Tebow was to earn that escalator his cap charge would balloon to $7,586,875. That is a number the Jets cant handle next season, considering they owe Sanchez $8.25 million guaranteed next year and a cap charge of over $12.8 million.
